Mr. Eugene Francis Meyer

Meyer, Eugene F. “Gene” age 87, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at East Troy Manor on April 15, 2016. Gene was born in the Town of Spring Prairie on October 2, 1928, the son of the late Arthur and Fannie (nee. Potter) Meyer. He attended Rochester Ag School and his family moved to the Town of Rochester in 1943. Gene served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and later returned to the family farm. He was a devoted Catholic and a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford.
Gene is survived by his nephew Ron Kurer and his children: Hannah (Alexei) Strelchenko, Melissa (James) Oleson and Sarah Kurer; by his niece Margaret “Marge” Meyer and her children: Megan and Mikayla Hintz; and by one great-great niece Eva Strelchenko; and by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Ann, brother Harold (Lucille) Meyer, niece Mary Kurer and great-nephew Josh Kurer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1981 Buelah Avenue in East Troy at 3:00 PM. Visitation is prior to services in Church on Tuesday from 2-2:45 PM. Burial in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Cemetery following mass. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
