Mr. Eugene R. "Gene" Saltzmann

Saltzmann, Eugene R. “Gene” Wind Lake Age 73 years passed away on November 25, 2008 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital from complications following a recent surgery. He was born on February 20, 1935 in Wind Lake, WI to the late Edward and Alice (nee. Holtz) Saltzmann. Gene was a life long resident of the Waterford/Wind Lake, WI area and a member of Norway Lutheran Church. Formerly married to Janice (nee. Brown) Saltzmann in 1955, they owned and operated Sunny Slope Farm in Waterford, WI and raised six (6) children together until 1990. Gene was a devoted life long dairy farmer in Waterford. Gene enjoyed his retirement years in Wind Lake with drives in the country, watching football games and Nascar races, eating out, and spending time with his dog, Freddie. He is survived by his six children: Ronald (Kathy) Saltzmann, Mukwonago, WI; Sue (Gary) Kastenson, Franksville, WI; Sandy (David) Ketteman, Third Lake, Il: Sharon (Fred) Schraith, Oak Creek, WI; Sindy (Dave) Novara, Greenfield, WI and Stephanie (Greg) McFadden, Waukesha, WI. Grandfather to fifteen (15) grandchildren and one recent great-grandson. Also survived by two (2) sisters: Arlene Bertelson, Waterford WI: Beverly (Vern) Reed, Elkhorn, WI; and one (1) brother Marvin (Barbara) Saltzmann, Waterford, WI. Further survived by loving Friend Amy McCarthy, Also survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his Mother Alice and Father Edward. Visitation in the Funeral Home Sunday November 30th 3-6 PM, Also Visitation in the Church Monday 10-10:30…Services Monday December 1st, 10:30 AM at Norway Lutheran Church 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake, Wisconsin. Burial in Norway Hill Cemetery following services Monday. In lieu of flowers Memorials suggested to the family to be distributed to family’s charity of choice.
