Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Moore

Elizabeth J.”Betty Jo” (nee: Youngberg) Moore, Age 81, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 29th, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, her daughters were by her side. She was born on March 29, 1931 in Evanston, Illinois to Harold and Elizabeth (Wood) Youngberg. Betty lived in Evanston, Gages Lake and Waukegan, IL and Scottsdale, AZ. She was always busy with raising her four children, volunteering at her children’s schools, the women’s club at her church, and working at Warren Township HS. Betty enjoyed traveling throughout the US with her long time partner Bob, making many friends along the way. She enjoyed playing the One-Arm Bandit in Las Vegas which was one of her favorite destinations. Betty never complained about her illness or the pain she was in. She told everyone she was fine and enjoyed each day until the end. It is hard to describe such a remarkable person in just a few words. We will miss and love her, and she will live on through the many wonderful memories she gave us. She will be in our hearts forever. Betty is survived by her daughters: Linda (Richard Kanas) Moore, Libertyville, IL, Terry (Monty) Fennell, Beach Park, IL and Christine (Alan) Wilhelm, Waukegan IL, Grand-children: Bryan, Nicholas, Nathan, Patrick, Sarah, Ranell and Leia, great-grandchildren, sisters: Jean Jorgenson, Janet (Albert) Wendt, nieces, nephews, daughter-in-law: Rebecca (Don) Hendrix, TX, special cousins: Marge (Clare) Schildgen and Sharon Sharpe. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her best friend and partner: Bob Benning, and son: John M. Moore. A Memorial Service will be held on May 6, 2012 at 5:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. Visitation with the family prior to services from 2:00 PM until time of service.
