Mr. Edward S. Gierczak Sr.

October 6, 1930 — January 1, 1753

Edward S. Gierczak Sr. Age 78 of Wind Lake passed away at home with family at his side March 1, 2009. Born on the farm in Pittsfield, WI October 6, 1930 the son of the late Joseph and Lottie (nee. Przylyinski) Gierczak. On March 21, 1953 in Milwaukee he married Irene A. Bartkowski. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1965 than moving to Wind Lake. Edward was a machinist for Bucyrus Erie Company where he had retired. Edward proudly served his country in the Army for 6 years post World War II and he flew his American Flag every day in honor of Freedom. He loved to work on his woodworking projects. Survived by his wife Irene, Children: Debra (Patrick) Grobe, Edward Gierczak Jr., Jennifer (Curtis) Wambach and Geraldine Gierczak Grandchildren Stacey and Michael Grobe, Kyle, Trenton & Dylan Gierczak, Alexander and Ashley Wambach. Also survived by siblings: Florence Sobanek, Chester Gierczak, Vince Gierczak, Clara Zaremba & Theresa (Eugene), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by his parents, along with many sisters and brothers. Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held during the summer of 2009 at South East Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
