Slak, Edmund, “Ed”, age 82, of Waterford, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Ed was born in Milwaukee on September 28, 1930, the son of the late Edmund and Margaret (nee. Skotzke) Slak. He was a high school graduate in Milwaukee and went on to apprenticeship at Boys Tech. On June 19, 1954 he married Gloria A. LeRoy. That same year they moved to Waterford and he was a proud owner of Waterford Aluminum Company most of his life. Ed enjoyed life. He liked hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren…Ed loved kids! He is survived by four children: Melanie Slak of Waterford; Darryl (Connie) Slak of Rochester; Jody (Barbara) Slak of Jackson, WI and Tamlyn (Timothy) Plohocky of Waterford; grandchildren: Jodi, Courtney, Lindsey, Martin (Sarah) Plohocky, Dale, Andrea and Amber Plohocky and Geneva Slak and one great-grandchild on the way. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters: Terri Seib, Mary Slak, Robert (Karen) Slak; Daniel Slak, and other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by his parents, and his wife: Gloria. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 6:00 PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford, WI, 53185. Visitation prior to services in Church on Monday from 4-5:45 PM. Burial to take place Tuesday March 26,2013 at 10 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery.In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials to the Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated.
