Mr. Edmond Karczewski

Karczewski, Edmond J. Age 85 of Town of Dover died peacefully at home Thursday October 8, 2009. Born on the farm January 5, 1924 in Burlington the son of the late Sigmond and Helen (nee. Fishman) Karczewski. On February 14, 1953 he married Mary J. Brenton at St. Francis Xavier Catholic church in Brighton. The couple farmed and lived in the Town of Dover and was married for 56 years. Edmond was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Dover where he was an usher for over 50 years, he was proud to serve in the Knights of Columbus and was a past Grand Knight and District Deputy. Ed was a proud farmer and Racine County Farm Bureau Member. He served on the Farm Bureau board, Farmers Grain and Elevator, also served as President of the Kansasville school board, where he sat on the board for 14 years, and was on the Dover Town Board for 4 years and spent 10 years volunteering for the Kansasville Fire Department. Survived by loving wife Mary, Children: Kathy (Mike) Schaal, Theresa (John) Henrichs and David (Deb) Karczewski, along with son-in-law: Eric Lenz. Also survived by grandchildren: Christopher, Margaret and Nick Lenz, Greg (Tracey) Schaal, Brian (Renee) Schaal, Emily Schaal, John E. Henrichs, Katie (Matt) Newholm, Nathan, Ben and Nick Henrichs and Spencer Karczewski. Further survived by six great-grandchildren, Sister and Brothers: Eugene (Hildegard), Elmer (Helen), Art Karczewski and Ernastine Iannello along with sister-in-law: Barb Karczewski. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Helen, brother Walter, Sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Shirley and brother-in-law: Tony. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday October 13, 2009 12:30 in the afternoon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Dover with Reverend Howard Haase officiating. Visitation in Church 10 am-12: 15pm please arrive early to avoid long lines. Burial in the church cemetery following Mass Tuesday.
