Plesnik, Edith M., age 103, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at home with granddaughters by her side on September 21, 2016. Edith was born in Lyons, WI on December 10, 1912, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (nee. Reesman) Robers. She spent her early life in the Burlington area where she attended school. On February 20, 1935 she married Frank Plesnik who preceded her in death on July 11, 1973. The couple lived in the Milwaukee area and then settled in the Tichigan Lake community for many years. Edith was a retired supervisor within Gimbels department store, setting up and managing Tasty Town restaurants. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford and she loved cooking and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all of her loving grandchildren.
Edith is survived by her grandchildren: Mark (Heidi), Sherri Stocks (Karl), Tim (Kelly) and Shawna (Ramiro); by great-grandchildren: Tammy (Joe), April, Justin and Lauren, Ashley (Keith), Amanda(Kody), Alyssa, Amber, Britney, Amber (Jose) and Tim. Edith is also survived by 13 ¾ great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends, and many other loved ones.
Edith is preceded in death by her husband Frank, son Donald, grandchildren Larry and Scott Shaffer, along with nine sisters and brothers.
Edith requested that no tears be shed, “I lived a long, happy life; let this be a celebration of my life!”
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be in Church prior to services on Thursday from 9-10:45 AM. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery following Mass.
