Dorothy Habecost, 92, passed away peacefully, June 7th after a short time in hospice. Born in Burlington, Wisconsin on February 22, 1931, Dorothy grew up in Waterford. A lifelong resident of Wisconsin, Dorothy spent her entire career working as a Registered Nurse. Following graduation, she worked for several years in New York City and lived and worked in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed her time spent wherever she worked until she retired as the Head Nurse for Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee.
Dorothy loved traveling and shared numerous stories of her trials and travails. One of her favorite places to travel with friends included Mexico. She also enjoyed spending time at her cottage on Wind Lake. She loved attending various community events including Lutefisk. Dorothy embraced life and charted her own course. Wherever she was, she always stayed connected to her hometown in Waterford, and was a long-standing member of Norway Lutheran Church. Dorothy was a die-hard Packer fan most of her adult life. She will be missed by so many people due to her sharp wit, great stories and sense of humor.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Elsie and Fred and her brother Harold. She is survived by two nieces and a nephew: Christy (Ken), Kathy (Clay), and Tim (Beth) and many great and great great nieces and nephews.
Private family services have been held.
