Schaefer, Doris Irene, age 98, of Rochester, passed away with her loving family by her side March 10, 2022, at East Troy Manor. Doris was born to Dwight and Grace (nee: Sheard) Frost on December 25, 1923, in Rochester. Doris was a lifelong resident of Rochester; she was educated at the AG School and after her graduation met the love of her life in Roy Schaefer and after their engagement would be married December 06, 1947, in Burlington. Doris and Roy would build their forever home in Rochester, raised three children and later gained another daughter through A.F.S. Doris was employed at the Southeast Telephone Company until her 70th birthday. Doris was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Rochester. Doris liked all the outdoor activities, Gardening, lawn mowing and bird watching. Other interests included knitting, crocheting, sewing, jig saw puzzles, reading and liked to play the piano. However, her biggest joy was her family whom she loved playing games with and spending time, she will be missed dearly.
Doris is survived by four children: Judy, Mark (Kathy), Lesley (Dan) Miles, Lu (Dugan) Robbins; five granddaughters: Laura (Ethan) Miles, Stacy (Chris) Middleton, Michelle Baron, Megan Robbins and Cassie Isaacson; eight grandsons: Jeremy (Antonia), Adam (Angie), Keith (Cristal), Noal (Amy) Miles, Alex Miles, Michael Robbins, Michael Isaacson, Brent (Carrie) Derouin; twelve Great granddaughters: Rylee, Kenzi, Mya, Kylie, Kasey, Taylor, Elsa, Ada, Fiona, Penelope, Rose and Lilah; six great grandsons: Logan, Ethan, Tanner, Breyden, Oscar and Waylon other nieces, nephews and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband; siblings: Virginia (Raymond) Henderson, Roger (Hilde) Frost, Ethel (Doug) McKeen, Norma (Richard) Huckstorf, and Ralph (Jean) Frost.
Private services have already taken place, the family is asking for donations, in Doris’s name, to your favorite charity, instead of sending floral arrangements.
The Family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington, Accents Hospice and East Troy Manor for the loving care of their mom during her time of need.
