Dianne N. (Daugherty) Withey, 85, of Waterford, WI, formerly of Lynxville, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 3, 2019.
Dianne was born in Prairie du Chien, WI, on September 12, 1933, to Lester and Mildred (Wisdom) Daugherty. Dianne grew up the youngest of six children, and was very close to her older siblings due to the loss of her father at a young age following complications from serving in World War I. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and her father serving as Crawford County Clerk, while she was growing up.
Dianne graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1951 and soon after met the love of her life, Kenneth Withey. The two were married on October 24, 1953, and shortly after moved to Milwaukee and started their family. Later in life, Ken and Dianne moved back to Lynxville to run the family business, Withey’s Bar.
Dianne was a homemaker and house wife, who devoted her life to taking care of her home, her husband, and raising her children. She often babysat to help ends meet, and because she loved children. She enjoyed crafting and extravagantly decorating her home for EVERY holiday. She loved to bake and cook following her traditional recipes made from scratch, and always cooked enough for an army. Nothing mattered more to Dianne than spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed having all of her grandchildren together and cherished the special trips and activities they did together.
Dianne is survived by her 3 children: Jody (Dan) Searles, Muskego, WI; Scott (Lori) Withey, Wind Lake, WI; and Mark (Lynn) Withey, Eastman, WI; 8 grandchildren: Justin (Jenni) Hart, Tyler (April) Hart, Jordan Hart, Kate, Kelly, and Erin Withey, Danielle (Shane) Torgerson, and Nathan Withey; 1 great grandchild: sweet baby Avery; a sister: Ruth Todd; 2 sisters-in-law: Mable Daugherty and Joyce Tollefson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dianne was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 65 years, Ken, on February 28 (2019); an infant daughter: Debra Lynn; her parents, 3 Brothers: Ray, Don, and Jack, 1 sister: Delores, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
A joint service for Dianne and Ken will be held at the Seneca Town Hall on Saturday May 11, 2019 at noon with a visitation two hours before the service, burial to follow. The two will be laid to rest in Dickson Cemetery, Lynxville, WI, with military honors for Ken
