age of 70. He was born in Burlington, WI to Charles & Lorraine (Haufle) North. He graduated from Waterford Union High School, ‘Class of 1971’. On September 2, 1972, he was united in marriage to Eileen Marie (nee: Beguhl) and spent 50 years of marriage with her. He succumbed to his 2 ½ year battle with papillary thyroid cancer.
A lifetime Waterford area resident, Dennis was employed at the former Burlington Co-op (now Alcivia), Burlington Brass Works, SC Johnson, Dor-O-Matic, Ben Zabler of Patz Co., Frost Dairy farm, Generac, and a directional boring construction worker (DeLuca & Tobin, Henshue Construction and Paul Senft & Son) from 1998-2011. His lifelong dream was to own his own dairy farm. He fulfilled that dream in June 1982 when he bought a Guernsey herd that he and his family grew and cared for until 1995. He was a board member and Lamplighter for Aid Assoc. for Lutherans (now Thrivent), a board member/ officer of the Waukesha/Tri- county Guernsey Breeders, a member of the Dudes and Dolls Square Dance club and a longtime member of the Waterford FFA Alumni Assoc.
Dennis took up woodworking in his retirement. He was especially proud of the grandfather clock he finished in May, as well as his wooden outdoor American flag that is proudly displayed outside his home. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening in his raised garden bed, which he made. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Nascar races and playing cards (euchre and sheepshead). Above all, Dennis enjoyed being and spending time with all of his loved ones.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Eileen, sons Michael (Jennifer), Jason and daughter, Valerie (David) Tribble and six granddaughters, Victoria, Audrey, Breanna and Lydia North and Amelia and Delainey Tribble.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Donald North, sisters Susan (North) Gall and Christine North; grandparents, Eugene and Bertha North and Carl & Martha Haufle and father-in-law, Donald Beguhl.
