Curtis P. Peterson ROCHESTER – Curtis P. Peterson, age 81, passed away suddenly on September 8, 2012 at his home. Curtis was born on February 14, 1931 in Iola, Wisconsin, to Ruth and Clarence Peterson of Scandinavia, WI. He attended Peterson Mills Grade school and graduated from Scandinavia High School. He enlisted in the Army in June 1953 and married Donna Lea Johnson of Weyauwega, WI on September 12, 1953. He attended University of Wisconsin – Madison and Milwaukee School of Engineering majoring in Electrical Engineering. He was an accomplished and brilliant engineer employed by Aerospace divisions of General Motors for more than 20 years as well as Trent Tube, Northern Control Systems and Mavrix Welding and Automation. He was a competitive ski jumper through his early 60s and even jumped with his family well into his 70s annually at the Peterson Open. He continued to be an enthusiastic supporter of ski jumping, and remained physically active, even playing competitive hockey and riding motorcycles into his 70’s. He is survived by his dear wife Donna of nearly 59 years, two brothers and two sisters, four children, Eric (Betsy), Brenda, Craig (Joan) and Alan (Mickey), ten grandchildren and eight great-grand children. Visitation will be held Wednesday September 12, 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 1:00P at Norway Lutheran Church 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake, WI 53185 with luncheon immediately following the service.
