Catherine Handschu

Catherine Handschu passed away at her Town of Rochester home Monday October 15th at the age of 91 years. She was born in Salem Indiana the daughter of Verne and Orpha (nee. Bush) Sullivan and spent here early life in Salem, and graduating from a Salem area high school. On December 19, 1936 in Chicago Illinois she married Lawrence Handschu whom has preceded her in death. Catherine was an accountant for a large Law Firm in downtown Chicago for many years. Her and Lawrence purchased their retirement farm in the Town of Rochester in 1942, and spent summers and weekends they’re until their retirement. Catherine was the Town Clerk for Rochester for 12 years. Survived by daughter: Pat Lancour, Grandson William”Bill”(Therese) Lancour along with great-granddaughter Kaylee, Grandson: Robert “Bob” Lancour, Grandson: Gregory (Jodi) Lancour and great-grandchildren Evan, Casey and Cameron, Granddaughter: Cathy (Steve) Johnson and grandchildren: Izabella and Monika. Further survived by two sisters-in-law: Joan Sullivan and Frances Handschu other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, brother Wilbur and son-in-law: Raymond Lancour Jr. Per Catherine’s wishes no services will be held.
