Edwards, Catherine J. (nee. Fischer) age 97 of Waterford. “Grandma Kay” passed away Friday May 11, 2012. Born and raised in Milwaukee and married Floyd W. Edwards on November 15, 1941 who preceded her in death on December 10, 1972. She was the oldest Foster Grandparent for 30 years at Southern Wisconsin Center. She retired at the age of 91 and received commendation from Presidents Bush and Clinton along with a Governor and a Senator. She resided at Levi Barnes in Waterford where she made many friends, and she was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She traveled throughout Europe and visited the home of the birth place of her parents Margaritha and Jacobus in Austria. Her greatest passion was collecting cookbooks and figurines, reading, and solving puzzles. Survived by one son: James “Jim” (Barbara), daughter-in-law: Elaine and grandchildren: Brian (Lyn), Eric, Shelley (Mike), Susan (Scott), Sara (Justin) Cammy (Brad), Corrie (Tim), Carrie (Bart) along with fifteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, children William, Mary, Patricia, Ellen (Tutti) and infant son Thomas. Visitation Wednesday May 16th, 2012 from 9-11:00 in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 307 South First Street, (Hwy 20) Waterford. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 11:00 AM. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the family.
