Mrs. Carol Modrak

Modrak, Carol V., Age 74, of Burlington, formerly of the Tichigan Lake area, passed away with family by her side at Waukesha Memorial Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Carol was born in Chicago, IL on November 27, 1936, daughter of Henry and Irene (nee. Keller) Garber. She spent her early life in Chicago, moving to Burlington at age 13. She graduated Burlington High School. On October 29, 1955, she married Gordon A. Modrak at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford. They were members of St. Thomas all their married life. Carol and Gordon settled in the Tichigan Lake area. She was a secretary and MVP of the Gordon A. Modrak Builders, Inc. Her greatest joy was her family. She also enjoyed baking, gardening and the Christmas season. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 56 years: Gordon, three children: Debbie Jacobs of Burlington, Mary Ann (partner in life, Betsy) Modrak of Winter, WI and Jim (Charlene) Modrak of Lake Geneva, five grandchildren: J.J. (Aubrey) Jacobs, Erika (Jason) Kaatz, Justin, Monica and James Modrak, great-grandchildren: Landen and Easton Jacobs, sisters: Irene (Phil) Gerloff of Hayward, Shirley (Ken) Kaspar of Lady Lake, FL and Lois (Fred) Ruppert of Burlington, brother-in-law: Alan (Dolores) Modrak of Adams, WI. She is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son: David. Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 12 noon with Reverend Gene Doda Jr. officiating. Visitation prior to services on Wednesday in the Funeral Home, from 10-11:45 AM. Private family inurnment at St. Thomas Cemetery at a later date.
