Leighton, Bruce A. age 81 passed away peacefully on Monday April 29, 2019 at his son and daughters-in-law home in Elkhorn with family at his side after a short battle with cancer. Bruce was born May 20, 1937. in Milwaukee the son of the late Archie and Agnes (nee. Piringer) Leighton. He was in the Army reserve’s and attended boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood and basic training at Fort Carson in Colorado. On April 29, 1961 he married Lydia “Lee” Jaeger at St. Thomas Church in Waterford. The couple owned and operated the Ace Hardware store in Waterford for many years. In his spare time Bruce enjoyed his bowling buddies and tournaments as well as spending time working on wood boats and classic cars. Most of all Bruce enjoyed time with his family.
Survived by loving wife Lydia “Lee” Leighton, Son Mike Leighton and his children: Elizabeth, Nicholas, Hannah and Maria Leighton along with their mother Theresa. Son: Dean (Lori) Leighton other relatives and countless friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, a grandson David and one brother Willard.
Per Bruce’s wishes no formal services will be held.
