Bonita Burcaw

Bonita (Bonnie) Burcaw, 83, passed away peacefully, in Milwaukee, WI on February 12, 2025. Bonnie was born in Park Falls on March 24, 1941 to Laddie and Mamie Rehak. She met the love of her life, Steven Burcaw, and together they built a life rich with shared dreams and the quiet joys of life, including traveling, the admiration of the outdoors, and good food. They were married in Phillips, WI beginning a journey that would be filled with family, friendship, and the simple pleasures she cherished most.

 Bonita was the proud and devoted mother of two children: Kristen Marie, whose life intertwined with Bonita’s as they navigated countless shopping trips, heart-to-hearts over home-cooked meals, and their shared love of animals. Kristen is married to Karl Joseph, with whom she raised Bonita’s beloved grandchildren, Kendall Mae, and Kaiser Lorenzo, two lights in Bonita’s life who brought her endless joy. Darcy Anton, who shares her sense of adventure, also carries forward Bonita’s love, kindness, and passion for life.

 Bonita was sister to 3 siblings. She was preceded in death by sister Dottie (Tom) Hoffman mother to Teri, and Barbara “Babs” (Don) Warga mother to Traci and Julie She is survived by brother Gary (Kathy) Rehak father to J.Garrett.

 In accordance with her wishes, Bonita’s service will take place in the spring, when the peonies bloom. A fitting tribute to a woman who brought such vibrancy into the lives of those who knew and loved her. Service will be held in Minocqua June 28th.
