Dix, Billy F., age 87, of Waterford, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 9, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove. Billy was born in Salem, WI on December 7, 1926. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. On May 29, 1948 he married Rose Julia Cramer at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Waterford. In his early life he was the owner of Dix Bus Service where he also served as the mechanic. Later in life he was employed at Pewaukee Liquor Store and Pewaukee High School.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 66 years: Rose; five children: Sharon (Michael) Montour, James (Lynn) Dix, Scott Dix Sr., Michael Dix, Craig Dix; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister: Dorothy (Conrad) Kansitzke and two brothers-in-law: Louie Slamar and Leroy Muto; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents;one son: Nathan Dix; one brother: Donald Dix; three sisters: Frances Slamar, Joyce Dix and Dixie Lee Muto.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 10-11 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, WI 53185. The Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in St Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Billy’s family suggests memorials to “St Thomas Catholic Church” or “Wisconsin Veterans Home”.
