Krueger, Bernard G., age 93, of the Town of Waterford, passed peacefully into the Lord’s hands with family at his side on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Bernard was born on July 8, 1929, in Stevens Point, WI, the son of Bernard and Frances (nee. Eickendorf) Krueger. He attended schools in the Plover, and Stevens Point areas. In 1946 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served an eighteen-month term. On April 2, 1949, he married Lois Wave Dannenberg, who preceded him in death on September 2, 2000.
The couple lived in Milwaukee, Muskego, and Rochester before settling on the Town of Waterford farm Bernard so enjoyed for the past 56 years. Bernard was a Tool and Die Maker by trade and a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Waterford. He enjoyed time with his family, racing his own dirt track car at Hales Corners, Slinger, or Wilmot racetracks, watching NASCAR, or any car race. His greatest treasure of all was being a farmer and a steward of the land.
Survived by his children, Linda (Jerald) Winkelman, Peggy Sloboda, Karl (Sherry) Krueger, Susan (Gary) Flaschberger, Gloria Schmidt, Dale (Debby) Krueger, Keith (Ling) Krueger, Bruce Krueger, and Brian Krueger; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren, along with one sister, Elaine Heck, one brother, Bill (Germaine) Krueger, and one sister-in-law, Joanne Krueger. Further survived other relatives and four-legged best friend, Reese.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, son-in-law Jerome Sloboda, sisters Beverly (Glen) Sterling, Pat (Oscar) Hopp, and Betty (Bill) Daugherty; and one brother Jerry Krueger, and by many four-legged K-9 companions along the way.
Visitation will be on Saturday December 3, 2022, from 9-10:45 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 145 South Sixth Street, Waterford, Wisconsin 53185. Services will begin at 11:00 AM with burial in the church cemetery with military honors to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Tichigan Fire Company, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, DaVita Mukwonago Dialysis, or a charity of your choice.
A special thanks to the doctors and staff at DaVita Mukwonago Dialysis for their care of Bernard, and to our dear sister Gloria and brother Brian for their extra-special care of Dad.
