Mrs. Anna Marie Bernice Tenfel

Tenfel, Anna Marie B., age 90, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on April 19, 2016. She was born in Burlington on May 19, 1925 the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (nee.Hegemann) Kornhoff. She attended St. Thomas Graded School and lived her entire life in the Waterford area. She married her first husband Gordon Knutson who passed away on January 10, 1957. On October 8, 1958 she married Conrad “Connie” Tenfel, who passed away June 13, 2005. Anna Marie was a homemaker and childcare provider for many years. She enjoyed tending to her garden, her lawn and flowers. She was a proud member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella and she is known for her famous St. Thomas Fish Fry Carrot Cake. Later in life her passion was spending time with her family and friends. She took pleasure in taking care of friends in need, visiting and spending time to lighten their day.
Anna Marie is survived by four Children: Marilyn (Ronald) Schmidt, Randy (Cherie) Tenfel, Larry (Debbie) Tenfel and Gary (Karen) Tenfel; Grandchildren: Roger (Kim) Schmidt, Brad (Shannon) Schmidt, Branden, Aaron and Austin Tenfel, Joanna Klatt, Derek Tenfel, Jeanna Boardman, Dylan Tenfel, Joey (Jody) Tenfel, Shanna (Andrew) Badje, Tommy and Lyla Mueller; Great-Grandchildren: Megan, Kelsey, Ethan, Anderson, Angel, Zak, Jalyn, Mikey, Cici, Emily, Alex, Lucas, Christopher, Tori and Caydyn. She is also survived by Sister-in-law: Dorothy (Harold) Heinrich, Brother-in-Law: Frank (Pat) Tenfel, Special Friend and Caregiver: Kim Mealy, Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and countless loving friends.
Preceded in death by her Parents, first Husband Gordon, second Husband Connie, Sisters and Brother: Hildegarde Wagner, Jeanette Farrel, Roman Kornhoff and Gwen Stock.
Visitation will be held IN CHURCH on Saturday April 23, 2016 from 9-10:45 AM with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford. A Private Burial in Burlington Cemetery will be held on Monday. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials to either Aurora VNA Hospice of Burlington or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
