Barnickel, Alton, F. – Age 73 of De Bary, FL. passed away on Friday Jan. 2, 2009 at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, FL. He was born in Lanesville, IN. to Fred and Theola (nee. Traylor) Barnickel. Alton was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Assoc., life member of American Legion Post 20-Waterford, WI., 25-year member of St. Peters Lutheran Church-Waterford, WI., current member of Lutheran Church of Providence in Deltona, FL. He also enjoyed hunting and working on small engine repairs. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years Nancy, four children: Alan -DeBary, FL., Alvin (Jennifer) -Plainfield, IL., Aaron (Lynn) -Big Bend, WI., Amy Barnickel-Orlando, FL. Grandchildren: Angela, Jessica, Joshua, Amaya, Sigourney, Blake and Landon. Two sisters: Anna Mary Hussung-Lanesville, IN., Wilhelmina (Maynard) Lambertus-Lanesville, IN. Sister-in-law: Bernice Barnickel-Lanesville, IN. Further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, son Austin, sister Dorothy (nee. Barnickel) Gerdon, and a brother Joseph. Services Friday Jan. 9th at 4 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 145 So. 6th St., Waterford, WI. Visitation at St. Peter’s, Friday Jan. 9th from 2– 4 PM. Burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery with military honors Saturday Dec 10th at 10 AM please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
